that in this day and age we can get some color matched calipers on cars?
Now don't get me wrong, I do like the change from usual ol' red. However, to only have one color caliper on cars just seems archaic given the efficiency of modern day production methods and technology.

It's probably due to a limitation of pigments available for high temperature applications. Your normal car paint will break down very fast if used on a caliper due to the heat cycles it would go through. Everything about high temperature paint is quite different from your typical car paint. Not surprised they only spec a single color or two from the factory.

Brembo seems to have a pretty wide color range. I'm sure you could find a hue that is similar to most production car colors, or at the very least a more complementary color.

I guess I should've drawn it out a bit more - each new color is another paint gun, another paint tank, and more inventory on hand to use on fewer pieces for whoever is making these parts. If an auto maker has ordered up tens of thousands of these calipers for production, you can't just go "Oh, sorry, we need more time to paint a few more greens". Limiting color for something like calipers makes it cheaper and easier to hit production deadlines. The part about the paint being different chemical-wise means these parts can't just be sent in primer and hit with the body paint along with the panels like other parts can.

well its not like the RS will be availible in a wide range of colors. If I had to guess just blue black and white so the calipers will look decent

They can start off any color you want, drive them hard and the paint will just get more and more brown....but still got to love the brownbos.

It all basically goes back to Henry Ford and "You can have it in any color you want, as long as it's black." Production cost vs time spent vs profit.
